Cap de Barbaria, in Formentera. A very special place. The origin of its name is unclear, but it seems to be due to its proximity to the African coast, which was known as ‘barbarian’.
It is accessed from the village of Sant Francesc by narrow paved road. It is very shocking to see how, as we get closer to Cap de Barbaria, the vegetation, the stone walls and the houses disappear… And you enter into a flat territory that does not seem of this planet.
At the end of this narrow road is the famous lighthouse of Cap de Barbaria, right on the edge of an impressive hundred-meter high cliff with spectacular sea views and indescribable sunsets.
