Imagine you wake up in your rented villa, like Villa Picco. Wow! What a view… This is how everyday should start, right? Now comes breakfast time, you can use our Concierge service and have breakfast on the wonderful terrace with our catering service or you might want to discover some special place, in this case we recommend Café del Lago on the beach of La Sabina, a charming place with all types of pastries, toasts, fresh fruit juices and coffees that will make your breakfast the key piece to face the “hard” day that awaits you in this wonderful island.

After breakfast it’s beach time, that’s how it is. Recommending only one beach is a complicated task, as they’re all so beautiful and all have an incomparable charm. There are some that are a must visit under any circumstance. Such as the beach of Ses Illetes, which is part of the Natural Park of Ses Salines. It is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful beaches in Formentera, but also the most famous one, which means that it is likely that there will be a lot of people. Another must is the beach of Migjorn, where your photos will look like postcards thanks to its immense beauty with turquoise waters and fine white sand.

But our recommendation to find the relaxation that we were preaching at the beginning of the post is Es Caló de Sant Agustí, a charming fisherman’s corner where the crystal clear waters, its fine white sand and the peaceful atmosphere will make you fall in love with this place.

Now it’s time for some culinary recommendation: You cannot leave without trying a paella or a lobster stew! And a place where you will surely enjoy it is at Es Molí de Sal, an old salt mill where fresh fish and seafood are guaranteed. Also the views are mesmerizing both by day with the sight to the turquoise sea and at sunset, with the colours of the sun playing with the Mediterranean horizon.

Another option to enjoy an authentic ‘arroz’ in Formentera is in Can Blaiet: Its cuisine is distinguished mainly by the traditional and seafood dishes typical of the island that they offer. From grilled mussels, fried baby cuttlefish, Can Blaiet salad (tomato, onion, beans and dried fish), ‘bullit de peix’ and its ‘arroz a banda’, fresh Mediterranean rockfish baked or in a salt crust, and its signature dish, fried lobster with potatoes, garlic, peppers and barnyard eggs. They also offer delicious homemade desserts, such as fig ice cream and coffee pudding.

In addition to the beach and gastronomy there are some places that without excuse, you must visit: the Lighthouse of Cap de Barbaria, an emblematic place that many are familiar with thanks to the film ‘Lucía y el sexo’ by Julio Médem and the well known Lighthouse of La Mola, also well known since it appeared in a Jules Verne novel. This last one we highly recommend visiting at sunset, it is simply breathtaking.

Also, you can’t miss going for a walk in the villages of the island, Sant Francesc can be perfect to get lost in its small streets, do some shopping and have ice cream in places like La Mukkeria.
